A new Metal Gear game titled Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has been unveiled during the 25th anniversary event for the franchise in Tokyo. Those in attendance were treated to a 20-minute demo of the forthcoming game.
According to Gamespot, which gives a full rundown of the footage they witnessed but weren’t allowed to video, Snake is back, and it’s a younger Snake than the one who starred in Metal Gear Solid 4.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes looks to be taking the gameplay back to basics, with crawling, hiding, and sneaking the order of the day. But the visuals have been improved dramatically, leading to speculation this game will actually appear on next-gen consoles.
The real-time demo was played on a PC using an Xbox 360 controller, but no release date was revealed. Hopefully a teaser for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be released soon for those of us not lucky enough to have been at the press event. But either way, Snake is back.
