Media Molecule has produced two absolute gems with LittleBigPlanet and LitleBigPlanet 2 on the PS3. And I have no doubt that LittleBigPlanet Karting will continue that great run when it’s released later this year.
As discovered by Official Playstation Magazine, the company is now working on what it describes as an “AAA project.” This is in job listings on the developer’s own website.
At the time of writing the Current Vacancies page suggests Media Molecule is looking for a ‘UI Designer’ for “different projects on different platforms,” and an ‘Experienced Gameplay Programmer’ working on “brand new IPs, even more ambitious than LBP was when it was conceived 6 years ago.”
The LittleBigPlanet universe has so much scope for enlargement that I wouldn’t bet against these games being based in that world. But “new IP” suggests otherwise. Perhaps MM has something huge planned for the next-gen consoles?

, it seems a bit counterproductive to make a spreeate newer LBP. Everything the creative community needs is already there, and anything that needs a re-haul can be done with either more DLC or an update to the main game.I’ve seen levels out there that have astounding talent poured into them, and really, it’s now OUR ideas that make LBP the great game it is today. With over a million levels to play through I’d imagine it would take even the biggest LBP fan their entire life just get through what’s on offer at the moment. In short: ME NO THINK IT NEED IT!!!
