Any fans of the Killzone series hoping to get a classic taste of Helghast action on the PS3 will be disappointed to hear that the emulated version of the first game has been “delayed indefinitely.”
The news comes courtesy of the official Killzone Twitter account, via Gaming Bolt. The tweet stated, “With regards to KZ1 for PS3, not sure what happened but I’ve been informed that it’s been delayed indefinitely.” No further explanation has yet been proffered.
The Killzone 1 re-release on PSN was scheduled for the end of January, but that came and went without it being released. I’m surprised by this seeing as Sony has been rather keen on HD remakes to squeeze every last drop of cash out of its exclusives.
There are rumors of a Killzone 4 floating around, but it could be that the sequel is being saved as a Playstation 4 launch title. Which means that could be it for Killzone on PS3.
