Infinity Ward Teases Next-Gen Game

Infinity Ward is advertising for a new member of staff to work on an “exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems.” Seeing as the Wii U is the only next-gen console so far announced this is potentially huge news.

According to NowGamer, the advert for a Senior Network Engineer states, “Come work with the game industry’s brightest to design and implement high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems.”

I think it’s safe to assume this is going to be a new Call of Duty game. It could possibly be a brand new IP but seeing as Infinity Ward is so closely associated with the CoD franchise I would put money on it being a new title in that series.

This could give us clues as to when the next-gen consoles will launch. Each Call of Duty game takes around two years to make, so we can assume the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be out by the end of 2014. I doubt this will be a launch title however, so expect to see at least one by the end of 2013.
