Harmonix Hiring For ‘Next Gen’ Games

Aside from the Wii U from Nintendo we still don’t know when the next-generation consoles are set to arrive, with neither Sony or Microsoft having revealed their plans. But developers clearly know more than they’re letting on.

If, as is expected, Sony and Microsoft reveal their next-gen consoles in 2013, the first run of games that will be released on them will be in development now. And that is clearly the case at Harmonix, the company behind the Rock Band and Dance Central franchises.

A job listing on Harmonix’ website (via Gamerzines) reveals the company is seeking a graphics engineer to work on “brand new IP and next-generation consoles.” They will be asked to “implement cutting edge graphics technology.”

Interestingly there are also multiple references to different platforms, suggesting that whatever new IP Harmonix is cooking up will appear on more than one console.

With this being new IP it clearly isn’t a reboot of Rock Band, but a new franchise closely resembling Rock Band perhaps?
