At the end of May a sequel to Race Driver: GRID was teased in about the most subtle way possible. Two months on and we’re gearing up for the full and frank announcement of the game.
As discovered by DSOGaming, GRID 2 already has a website and a teaser trailer (embedded below). We also already know its name, The Race Returns, and the date at which to expect more details and a possible full trailer – 8/8/12.
Furthermore, by digging into the site’s source code it’s possible to determine the game will be arriving Summer 2013, though there is no mention of which platforms it will be arriving on at that time.
This is all good news as I loved the first game and was far from alone. The original GRID was far from perfect, but it was very entertaining, bridging the gap between the Need for Speed games and the Gran Turismo games by being both fun and realistic at the same time. Let’s hope the sequel offers more of the same.
