Grid 2 is the sequel to Race Driver: Grid, which was released in 2008 and acted as a stopgap while many of us waited for Gran Turismo 5 to emerge from its long development. But the game accomplished more than that, and fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since.
That sequel was on show at the Eurogamer Expo recently, with two circuits available for attendees to play. The videos of these two circuits have since been uploaded to YouTube, and they’re both embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
These videos show that Grid 2 is both miles better looking than its predecessor while still being recognizable as its actual and spiritual successor. We get to see street racing around Chicago and a one-on-one, point-to-point race along the California coast.
The first title was far from perfect, but the gameplay was more fun than it had any right to be. If Codemasters has managed to keep that fun in place while improving everything else then Grid 2 could be a must-buy in 2013.
