Final Fantasy XIV was originally meant to be released on the PS3 in 2010, and many FF fanatics such as myself couldn’t wait for it to arrive on consoles. Unfortunately we were forced to, as the release was delayed indefinitely.
This was due to the original release on the PC being condemned bitterly both critically and commercially. It just wasn’t good enough. However, Square Enix has gone back to the drawing board and created Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, a new version of the game set to be released sometime in 2013.
The company has now made it clear that the PS3 version is back on the table, releasing some in-game screenshots to prove as much. The indication is that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on PS3 at the same time as the PC version debuts.
Gameplay footage from the PS3 version is being teased to appear on the Official Playstation Blog soon.
