Although I’m a huge Fan of the Final Fantasy games, and Final Fantasy VII in particular, I didn’t really like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the feature-length CGI animated film loosely based on the characters from the game. It was good, but not great.
What I really want to see, and I suspect I’m far from the only one, is a movie that tells the story of Final Fantasy VII almost scene-for-scene. Which is exactly what a group of fans are trying to do.
The video embedded below shows the teaser trailer for this fan-made Final Fantasy VII – The Movie in which we see Aeris the flower seller, and catch glimpses of Cloud Strife, Barret Wallace, and Tifa Lockhart.
This is a work of genius, but it represents only a tiny fraction of the storyline. I suspect making the rest of the film will be a lot more challenging, but I wish them luck. I’d pay good money to see Final Fantasy VII – The Movie in full.
