Nintendo is now regarded as the casual gamers’ friend, with the original Wii bringing new gamers galore to the industry. But Nintendo hasn’t forgotten about core gamers, with ZombiU aimed directly at them with its violent and bloody gameplay.
Ubisoft is the company responsible for ZombiU, and Nintendo made sure to laud its involvement with Wii U. The company struggled to persuade third parties to develop the best games for the Wii, but hopefully that won’t be a problem on the Wii U.
As well as the official trailer as embedded above, there was a demonstration of how the gameplay works with the new Wii U tablet controller. The new controller plays an integral part in the game, acting as a scope and detector.
ZombiU is an important game in the Wii U line-up revealed thus far because 1. it’s a third-party title, 2. it utilizes the tablet controller very well, and 3. it’s aimed at core gamers, and isn’t the usual Nintendo fayre of cuteness personified.
