With first Microsoft and then Sony having pitched their new products at E3 2012 all eyes focused on Nintendo. Being the only company with new hardware to show off meant more attention was being paid to the games, but only a few actually stood out.
One of those games which stood out was Pikmin 3, set to be a launch title on the Wii U. Pikmin is a game conceived and developed by the legend that is Shigeru Miyamoto, so it was fitting that he be the person to present it to the world.
Miyamoto showed off Pikmin 3 in all its glory, and does look glorious. This is the best-looking Wii U game we have yet seen, with the scenery and characters all being exquisitely realized.
Pikmin is one of those strange games that doesn’t look like it will entertain but is totally compelling and addictive once you get into it. And Pikmin 3 appears to be following the same trend.
