Microsoft kicked off E3 2012 in Los Angeles earlier today. The star attraction of its press conference was, rather unsurprisingly, Halo 4. We got to see a long trailer which included an epic opening movie and the gameplay footage you can see in the embedded video below.
The basic gist of the trailer is that Master Chief finds himself on a new jungle-like planet called Requiem. He’s on his way to rescue the crew of UNSC Infinity, which has crash-landed.
We get to see some new enemies, new weapons, and a new visor. And that’s about it. My take on the latest Halo is that it’s more of the same. And I was expecting something special, or at least something a little different. If you like the other Halo titles then you’ll love Halo 4, but I doubt it will add any new fans.
Halo 4 is the first Halo title developed by 343 Industries and it’s set to start a new trilogy. The game is pegged for release on Nov. 6, 2012. Handily just in time for Christmas.
