Bethesda is ready to roll back the curtain and show off its latest videogame franchise, one which it hopes will sit comfortable alongside Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Its name is Dishonored, and it’s a combination of Assassin’s Creed, Mirror’s Edge, Prince of Persia, and Bioshock. Which is an awesome mix.
Clearly this first trailer is all CGI, so don’t expect the finished game to look anywhere near as good as this. But still, it gives a good idea of what we can expect from Dishonored when it lands on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 later this year.
We’re talking an alternate steampunk reality which sees Victorian London transformed by strange machinery. There is a compelling storyline which has a false accusation as its central premise. And the opportunity for inventive gameplay thanks to the range of incredible skills the main character possesses.
I’m already looking forward to Dishonored, even after only seeing this one measly little trailer. Is there any chance of it living up to the hype currently being hurled its way?
