Bioware Pleases No One With Free ‘Mass Effect 3′ Ending DLC

The Mass Effect 3 saga continues on. Bioware is now learning the old saying about not being able to please everyone all of the time has an element of truth. In fact, Bioware’s latest plan seems to be pleasing no one whatsoever.

In case you’re not aware of the situation: Mass Effect 3, the last in a trilogy of games, didn’t end in the neat and tidy way some hoped it would. And they complained about it bitterly. Bioware responded by promising to release free DLC offering an extended ending for those who needed more of an explanation.

This has pleased neither side. Those who hate the ending want a totally new finale, one which wraps up the story in a way they see as more fitting. Basically they want a happy Hollywood ending in which everyone walks away fine and dandy. Never gonna happen.

Then there are those who think the ending should be left as is. It’s Bioware’s title to do with it what they please. I personally think Bioware should have told the complainers to like it or lump it. Video games are art, and it’s up to those who create them to decide what form they take. Not gamers.
