343 Working On Next-Gen Halo 5?

By Dave Parrack Halo, Rumor

Halo 4 is set to be released worldwide on November 6. It’s the first full Halo game developed by 343 Industries, and Halo 4 is set to be the first title in a new trilogy. Assuming it’s the smash hit everybody assumes it will be.

With development on Halo 4 almost at an end, the developer’s thoughts will be subtly shifting to the next installment, and Microsoft is already advertising for additional staff to work with 343.

According to NowGamer, the recent job ad reads:

“Microsoft Studios 343 Industries is looking for an experienced graphics developer to help create the current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe. Work on one of the most exciting and creative properties in the industry; Work with the incredible 343 team to help drive the future of Halo.

That’s fairly unambiguous wording. References to the “next generation” and “the future” strongly suggest whoever ends up in this job will be working on Halo 5 for the Xbox 720.

This isn’t all that surprising as the next Microsoft console is coming either late-2013 or early-2014, but it’s still nice to know the first games are already being forged.
