Zach Braff is leaving Scrubs after the eighth season

Zac Braff as Dr. Dorian

I’m going to put this out there: Scrubs is just not Scrubs without Zach Braff. Who’s with me?

After the show’s eight season, Zach Braff will not be reprising his role as J.D., and as you’ve probably already guessed, the viewership is likely to fall as a result. Braff has confirmed that he will not be returning to the show and has confessed that he feels free now that he’s quit the role.

He has plans to branch out and move into movies, which is something that he couldn’t do while he was contractually obligated to Scrubs.

He says, “(I left Scrubs because) there’s so much I want to do with my life. (It was) the most amazing experience of my life, but when you work on a television series, they own you.”

I think he’s a good looking guy, all in all, but I’m not sure how he’ll do with transitioning over to movie roles. He looks too much like a younger version of John Ritter. What do you think? I’d probably watch a romantic comedy with him in it, and maybe Drew Barrymore, that might be interesting enough.
