We now know why Maria Shriver separated from Arnold Schwarzenegger after being married to him for twenty-five years. He fathered an illegitimate child with a staffer in his home, over ten years ago.
After the Governator stepped down from his position, he told Maria of his affair with the woman. He also informed her that he had a child with this woman, who has since retired and has received severance from her job there.
Arnold said in a statement, “After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caued. I apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.”
This was the catalyst that sent Maria packing, even though he was denying it in the media. Maria released a statement, saying, “This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment.”
She doesn’t need to comment further, we now know how much of a douche he was to her. Kudos to her for leaving his sorry butt.
