Tom Cruise apparently knows an honest mistake when he sees one. So, in effect, he has decided not to press charges against the guy who drunkenly mistook the actor’s home for his own.
Jason Sullivan had the misfortune of scaling Tom’s fence thinking he was accessing his own property. When he was spotted by one of Tom’s security guards, the guard promptly tased him and held him there until the police arrived. He was then booked for trespassing after being taken to the hospital.
Tom had decided not to file charges against Jason, who has claimed that it was all one big, drunken mistake. Tom’s lawyer, Bert Fields, issued a statement saying, “Tom’s not a vindictive guy. The guy was drunk. He didn’t have a malicious intent.”
Of course, Jason has been staying at a home which happens to be adjacent to Tom’s property, so it all makes sense. This news comes right on the heels of Tom’s lawsuit against In Touch Weekly and Life & Style magazines, who have claimed that he has abandoned his daughter Suri.
