Two weeks after Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, it appears that they have settled their divorce! Can you believe that? That was the quickest celebrity divorce settlement ever.
It was gearing up to look as if it would’ve been an epic battle in the public eye over who would get custody of their daughter Suri. Katie sought full legal custody of her daughter, reportedly to keep her out of the Church of Scientology.
The former couple released a joint statement, saying, “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”
Afterward, Katie’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, said, “This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
