Tom Cruise is doing a Top Gun sequel?

After reports of Tom Cruise’s movie Valkyrie getting pushed back to never never land and Tom not getting the price ($20 million?) for a role that he wanted, comes new news that Tom is doing the only role that might be able to get him back in a positive light, a Top Gun sequel.

He was reportedly approached to star in the sequel to the 1986 flick, reprising his role as Maverick.

Sources say, “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

They need to bring back Kelly McGillis, too! If they can give Tommy boy another chance at the movie, then why not? And I have to wonder who they’re going to have as the cocky new female pilot? Megan Fox?
