Russell Brand Talks About His Community Service

Russell Brand was busted in New Orleans for swiping a photographer’s iPhone and smashing it through a window. As a result, he was sentenced to pay a fine of $500 and was ordered to complete 20 hours of community service. Russell is speaking out, saying that doing his community service is an honor.

In a recent interview, he said, “I don’t know what their format of community service is, but community service, that doesn’t seem like a punishment. That seems like a duty. We are our community. Service is an honor. I’ll be happy to do it.”

When he was asked as to the type of work he’d be doing, he said, “What will I be doing? I don’t know. Tidying up or something probably.”

Always a joker, right? Do you think he’ll be singing a different tune after those 20 hours are done? Do you think the punishment fit the crime?
