Robert Pattinson rose to fame as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, but there’s one thing that he doesn’t care for as a result: his nickname, RPattz. I can’t say that I blame him, the nickname is pretty much stupid, right? Why would you want someone just completely phasing out your entire first name for an initial? If his mother wanted him to be named “Arpattz”, then she could’ve opted to do that. But alas, Rob is sick of it and really wants revenge on the starter of said nickname.
In a new interview, he said, “When I got this part, every single article that came out was, ‘R-Patz’s struggle for credibility!; I don’t understand who invented that thing, ‘R-Patz’. I want to strangle them.”
Fortunately for the British actor, we here at Snarkerati pride ourselves on snuffing out the obvious culprit of this stupidity. Robert Pattinson has none other than Perez Hilton’s stupid self to thank for inventing the nickname. You’re welcome, Edward — you totally owe us one, dude.
