It’s a sad day in the world of music as we announce the untimely passing of the Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch AKA MCA.
Adam co-founded the rap group in 1979 with Mike D. and Ad Rock and went on to sell a bazillion records. Most notably to fans might be License To Ill, which spawned hits like You Gotta Fight For Your Right (To Party) and Paul Revere.
In 2009, Adam announced that he was undergoing treatment for a cancerous parotid gland and lymph node. He had undergone surgery along with radiation therapy for the cancer, so it is unknown at this time if that played a part in his passing.
He was 47-years-old and is survived by his wife and daughter. Such sad news! I don’t know about you, but I grew up listening to the Beastie Boys’ music and his talent will most definitely be missed.
