It looks like Enrique Iglesias will not be joining the judge’s panel on the upcoming season of American Idol. It was said that Randy Jackson would be falling back to a mentoring position on the show, leading the way for all new blood at the judge’s table. Now, we’ve learned that that’s not the case.
After negotiations with Enrique fell through, Randy signed a deal to remain a judge. He will be joined by Mariah Carey and reportedly both Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. It makes sense to keep Randy around in the best capacity whatsoever because he is the longest running element on the show. I wonder how much he’s getting per year for that gig.
Simon Cowell took to Twitter to say, “Just heard Randy is back on Idol. Right decision.”
Mariah is said to be keen on getting Lenny Kravitz as a judge on the show, but the remaining spots are still up in the air, as of right now. Who do you think would be a good fit to sit at the judge’s table with Randy and Mariah?
