Randy Jackson is officially out of American Idol as part of the judging panel. Surprised? He’s not being fired from the show, but is hanging back to mentor the upcoming season’s contestants. Jimmy Iovine Jr.? Ha.
There have been quite a few shakeups on Idol since our favorite winner emerged…Phillip Phillips, of course…With his smoldering blue eyes and that swagger that he has…oh wait, what was I saying? Oh yes, the judges. Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced that they were jumping ship. After many names were put in a hat to replace them, it was confirmed that Mariah Carey would be joining the judge’s panel. Since, Nicki Minaj’s name has been sounded off as a possible judge on the show, thus drawing Queen Mimi’s ire.
A source said, “There’s some concern among the brass that Jackson is not well-suited for the mentor role…but they feel they need him because he’s the glue that helps keep the show together.”
