Mick Jagger is finally opening up about Maroon 5′s hit song Moves Like Jagger. In the song, he is referenced quite a bit and he is also featured in the video. But, the Rolling Stones rocker has revealed that he didn’t get paid for any part of the song.
In a new interview with David Letterman, the singer did Dave’s top ten things. The list was titled “Top ten things I, Mick Jagger, have learned after 50 years in Rock N’ Roll”. On that list was a dig at the band for using his famous moves in their song. He said, “You don’t earn a cent when someone does a song about having moves like Jagger.”
Also on his list, “Be considerate of other hotel guests, trash your room by 10pm” and “Before shouting ‘Hi Seattle!’ make sure you’re in Seattle.”
Of course, this wasn’t the first time that Mick has been used as a reference in song. He was also in Ke$ha’s hit song Tik Tok. She said in her lyrics, “And we kick them to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger.”
Do you think he should’ve gotten paid for having a song written about him?
