Lily Allen Says Miscarriage Made Her Check Into A Psychiatric Clinic

Lily Allen has revealed that she was so depressed after suffering a miscarriage with Ed Simons’ baby, that she checked herself into a psychiatric clinic last year. She got pregnant in 2007 and suffered the miscarriage in January, 2008.

She sank so far into a depression that she realized she needed professional help to deal with her grief.

She said, “I was in a nuthouse. Psychiatric clinic. I stayed there for three weeks. I was really depressed because of the miscarriage and I’d kind of lost the plot a bit. It was quite a nasty time.”

She added, “It was quite nice being in there. No one could get to me; no one knew I was there.”

She also said that she hasn’t given up on the idea of having children someday, saying, “I want to take them to school and make breakfast and packed lunches.”
