Kirsten Dunst bans writer for criticizing her acting ability

Kirsten Dunst must not like it when you criticize her acting ability. So much that the actress banned one of the writers from the set of her new movie for doing just that.
It was Toby Young who wrote the book, How To Lose Friends & Alienate People, to which the movie in which Kirsten stars, is based on. He made a critique at one point on her performance to a producer of the movie. The message got relayed to Kirsten that he was criticizing her acting talent, so she put in the word to the director to “keep him at an arm’s length.”
Young says, “She overheard me giving the producer a ‘note’ on her performance in a particular scene. At the time, I didn’t think of it as a criticism, more as a helpful bit of advice, and the producer took it in that spirit. But Kirsten overheard this exchange and interpreted it as a complaint about her acting ability. It was after this, apparently, that she took Bob (the director) to one side and asked if I could be kept at arm’s length in the future. Bob carried out this edict with a good deal of tact. I didn’t realize it, but this was, in effect, Bob carrying out Kirsten’s instructions.”
I don’t think she should have been such a diva about the situation. He wrote the book that the movie is based on and knows more about the characters and their actions better than her. It’s a shame that she couldn’t have been more professional about it and took the criticism constructively. She’s not perfect, so maybe he was trying to help her get into character more.
