Kate Hudson is being sued for breach of contract

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson is used to making the headlines, but usually it’s because of her quick boyfriend exchange rate. This time, she’s making the news because she’s being sued.

Kate has come out with a new eco-friendly haircare line, David Babaii for Wildaid, but 220 Laboratories says that she frauded them and took their trade secrets. They have filed a total of 17 complaints against the actress, including, breach of contract and breach of confidence. From what I understand, the secret ingredient is some kind of volcanic ash that works wonders on flyaways.

It was an oral contract, but they’re saying that it entitled the company to be the sole providers of the line’s raw materials.

Apparently, Kate is just finding out about the lawsuit.

“Kate and her attorneys are only just learning of the complaint, as Kate has not yet been served,” publicist Brad Cafarelli told E! News Monday. “Kate does not know the plaintiffs and has never met with them or spoken with them. Her representatives believe that the claims are baseless and without merit and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit.”

I think they’d have a tough time proving that they had an oral contract, in the first place. I also think it was good on her for finding a place that would make the products cheaper.
