Dr. Phil says Lynne Spears called him to intervene

Sources say that right before Britney Spears was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Lynne Spears called upon Dr. Opportunity to go see why Britney wasn’t kept longer.

Here’s what Dr. Phil had to say about the incident on The Early Show this morning:

“I want to set the record straight. I went to see Britney at the request of her family. I talked to Lynne, Jamie and Brian because they were frustrated that she wasn’t going to be held for a longer time.”

Dr. Phil plans on staying in the spotlight by devoting an entire show to Britney this week. He said he was called when Britney was rushed to the hospital Thursday night.

“Thursday night, the phone rang, it was Lynne. Clearly she was very upset, as any parent would be,” he said.

Britney did not ask for his help and I’m sure doesn’t realize she has a problem. She blew him off and I’m sure she doesn’t want him to dedicate an entire show to her problems.
