Doug Hutchison Talks Raising His Wife, Courtney Stodden

It’s no secret that Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden are in couple’s therapy. She was only sixteen when they married and he was 51-years-old. It was a disgusting union that brought the sort of quasi-celebrity status that they’re enjoying as we speak.

Doug and Courtney spoke with Billy Bush about their union and all of the creepy details that go along with that. When asked why he didn’t wait until she was 18 to tie the knot, Doug replied, “A couple of reasons, life is unpredictable and we need to live every day to the fullest. Courtney and I fell in love and we’re soulmates and we needed to dive. She’s 18 now. What would be the point to have waited until she’s 18?”

GROSS. Moving on.

During the interview, Billy asks Doug if he has any kids…and his response is seriously the worst thing I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard a lot!) He said, “This is my child, I’m raising my wife.”

They go on to say that they’re inspired by Jon and Bo Derek, along with Celine Dion and Rene Angelil. Courtney said, “The connection was so organic. When you fall in love with somebody, Billy, you’re in love and you feel that.”

He responded with, “But you’re 16 and you’re swaying all over the place. Like I have a 14-year-old daughter who is hormonal and emotional and changes her feels about friends every ten seconds.”

Courtney replied, “I wasn’t…if you asked Bo Derek she would say the same thing. When you’re an old soul, you’re not going to fall in love with a 14-year-old boy. You meet somebody, you know what you want, and you’re going to get that. I was a Christian girl and I wanted to save myself until I got married. Some people say that I waited a whole 16 years…that meant so much to me…we’re still together. We’ve been married for a year and a half almost.”

Someone needs to slap the stupid out of this chick….seriously.
