We’ve heard reports that Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer had a bit of a beef during the filming of their movie Magic Mike, but apparently it went even further than that.
A source said that the two butted heads during filming, but it may have extended far past the production. A source close to the movie said, “Channing and Alex had a fight while filming. Those around them tried to mend their relationship, but Channing doesn’t want anything to do with Alex.”
It may have gone as far as Channing expressly saying that he didn’t want Alex in the photoshoot for Entertainment Weekly. It was a beefcake bonanza in the magazine’s spread, but Alex was nowhere to be found.
In the issue, we see Channing along with his “friends” Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello. The source said, “Channing said he didn’t want to do it if Alex was there. Alex is known in Hollywood for being rude and difficult.”
Despite that, Alex’s rep insists that he was offered the shoot, but was unable to do so. The rep said, “They were all offered the cover, and everyone was happy to do it with everyone else. Alex was unavailable to travel to New York…because he had another commitment that he couldn’t get out of. It was purely a logistical issue that prevented Alex from getting there.”
Channing’s rep also debunked the story, saying, “This isn’t true. Alex was a great pro to work with. He did everything that we asked for, was completely prepared and well-mannered. We have no idea where these false stories are coming from.”
