Clay Aiken defends Britney Spears & doesn’t watch American Idol

Clay Aiken has hit out at Newsweek for asking him about the incident in which he covered up Kelly Ripa’s mouth and the altercation he had with a woman on a plane. He said that he thought Newsweek would be more reputable.

He also echoed Chris “Your 15 minutes are finally up” Crocker, by telling us all to leave Britney alone:

“We have a presidential election going on, and for whatever reason this is what people are interested in. I think that is probably the saddest thing. Leave her alone, just leave her alone.”

He also went on to say that he hasn’t watched American Idol in three years because he says that it stresses him out too much. He compared it to high school, saying that he wouldn’t be there without it, but just like school, you don’t keep going back to the football games.

I’m of the mind that Clay is really just trying to stay in the media spotlight by commenting on popular media spectacles.

I’m just sayin’.
