Just recently, Christina Aguilera was said to have busted out her record label for pressuring her during her Stripped album to be super skinny. She said that she basically dropped any excess weight at their request so she wouldn’t put anyone out of work because she wouldn’t sell records. During the recording of her new album Lotus, she said that her body was off the table and they would just have to deal with her the way she is — fat.
According to reports, her comments about her weight were said to be fake. Her rep has denied the reports that Christina made those comments at all. E! Online made the claims that the quotes actually came from a preview of her Billboard interview via Us Weekly, but Us Weekly has since taken them down.
Instead of saying that she was tired of being a “skinny, white girl”, what she said was, “This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the Lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years.”
Good for her, but we still have to wonder where the other quotes came from…don’t you?
