Britney Spears won’t be performing at this year’s VMAs!

If you were expecting Britney Spears to make her big comeback this year, then think again!

Her manager Larry Rudolph told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show earlier today, “Britney Spears will not performing at the VMAs this year. I’m telling you officially and unequivocally.”

He also said that Britney is “in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show.”

It was widely rumored that she’d be performing and we even heard that her stylist Kim Vo was preparing several looks for the singer and hinted that it was for her performance.

I was so hoping that she’d be the perfect trainwreck and perform again half dead. She is still involved, though. She did some spots with Russell Brand, in which she poked fun at herself.

You know who needs to perform at the VMAs? Amy Winehouse. Now that’d be a show!
