Ashton Kutcher has become the latest celebrity to get targeted by the “swatting” prank. A few months back, someone pranked Miley Cyrus’ home and SWAT cars were called to her property for a reported threat. Now, we’ve learned that Ashton has become the next target.
Apparently someone called 911 to inform the authorities that there was an intruder in the home with a gun. This caused the police to break out the armed SWAT team. Someone called the cops using a teletext device to inform the cops of the potential threat. Of course, they can’t really ignore these types of situations and treat every one with the same response.
The Los Angeles police are currently investigating the incident after the cops showed up to find that there was no actual threat. The woman who called, notified officials that there were armed robbers in the house and that she’d locked herself in one of the bathrooms after hearing gun fire.
They are in the process of investigating the incident and will seek to prosecute anyone who is found guilty of making the 911 call.
