American Idol attraction is coming to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is going to create an American Idol attraction that will bring the television and pop culture phenomenon to life at the resort in Florida. So if you’ve ever dreamed of being up on that stage singing or judging, then this is for you.

The new attracted is set to make its debut in late 2008, and unfortunately, will not feature guest appearances by Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, or Ryan Seacrest. However, people who go through the audition process will be able to sing for a Disney Hollywood Studios producer and could potentially be cast in a theme park show. After you prepare backstage, which includes a vocal coach, hair and make up, you perform in front of a “live” audience as well as a panel of judges.

Guest performers with the highest votes will compete in an end-of-day Grand Finale show at Walt Disney World, and the winner of the Grand Finale show will receive a guaranteed reservation for a future regional stadium audition — to ensure no waiting in long lines. But when it comes down to the television show auditions, everyone is treated equal.

I know that this isn’t celebrity news, but it just sounded so cool and fun. Would you do it? I’d do it only to be a judge, because I couldn’t carry a tune if I had a bucket.
